This textile company used an internal system that ran on a single computer, with no cloud connection: whenever they changed equipment, they had to move the program and all the information manually. They mainly used it to pay workshops and create the purchase and production orders for each batch of garments.
That system was not connected to anything else. To review accounts receivable and payable, or income and expenses, they had to check separate spreadsheets, and there was no database of clients or workers. My role was the UX/UI design of a cloud ERP that brings that entire process together on a single platform.
The challenge
The challenge was to bring payments, purchase and production orders, accounts receivable and payable, income and expenses, roles and permissions, and clients and suppliers into a single cloud system, in a way that felt natural and easy to use.
One important detail: purchase orders were prepared by printing a photo of the garment and marking by hand what to cut, where and how many units per size. It was a slow process with many chances for error, and it had to be redesigned from scratch.

The user uploads a real photo of the garment and leaves comments on each area: what to cut, how much and with which specification. It fully replaces the previous paper-based process.
Each garment starts from a template with its specifications already loaded, along with the cost of materials and labor. Only a few details need adjusting before sending it to production.
The supervisor sees the real progress of each order and each workshop: which stage it is in and, if applicable, how much delay it has.
The company’s balance sheet, accounts receivable and payable, and income and expenses filtered by day, month or year, to understand the financial situation at any time.
From Local to Cloud
The information moved from a single computer to a cloud platform, available from any device with an internet connection.

Payments, production orders, accounts receivable and payable, and income and expenses, previously kept in separate spreadsheets, now live in a single system.
Paperless Process
Comments on the garment photo replaced pencil and paper: the process is faster and has far less room for error.
